Welcome to the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac ! Take a look below at some answers to the questions you might have to plan your visit.

OPENING TIMES

Museum: Tuesday to Sunday, 10.30am to 7pm, except Thursdays from 10.30am to 10pm.

Closed on Mondays, except during Spring school holidays when the museum is open from 10.30am to 7pm on Mondays.

Garden: Tuesday to Sunday, 9.15am to 7.30pm, except Thursdays from 9.15am to 10.15pm.

Closed on Mondays, except during Spring school holidays when the garden is open from 9.15am to 7.30pm on Mondays.

Are visitors required to wear face masks?

It is no longer mandatory to wear face masks.

Are the cloakrooms open?

Access to the cloakrooms is currently open.

As a reminder, pushchairs are authorised in the museum.

Do I have to book my ticket online?

We recommend booking your ticket before your visit for faster admission to the museum.

Tickets can be bought at the museum ticket desks or at the ticket machines. We recommend contactless credit card payment. 

I am usually eligible for free admission to the museum. Do I need to book my ticket?

All visitors must have a ticket with the exception of members and friends of the museum who may access all the museum spaces on presentation of their valid card. In order to guarantee your access to the museum, it is strongly recommended that visitors eligible for free admission book a free ticket to ensure faster admission (you will be asked to present proof of eligibility at the entrance point).

I already have a ticket (purchased from a higher education council, works council or reseller). Can I use it?

We strongly recommend booking a free online ticket and presenting your ticket purchased from your higher education council, works council or a reseller at the entrance point as proof. 

Can I pay with standard payment methods at the museum? For example, can I pay in cash?

Cash is accepted, however, we recommend bank card payment, and particularly contactless payment.

Can I come to the museum at any time with my ticket?

To ensure your visit goes smoothly, please respect the chosen date and time slot. You must arrive fifteen minutes before the time indicated on your ticket.

What measures are in place to ensure the safety of visitors and your teams?

Cleaning and disinfecting protocols have been stepped up, both in terms of the spaces (toilets, handles and handrails, etc.) and the equipment provided, such as audioguides. Various hand sanitising gel distributors are located in the museum spaces. Specific COVID-19 signage provides reminders of health guidelines, hygiene and social distancing.

Are audioguides available? Does use of this type of device come with a risk?

Audioguides are available at the usual prices (prices available here).

To allow you to make best use of the audioguide with peace of mind:

  • The devices and earphones are meticulously cleaned before and after each use.
  • Visitors wishing to use their own earphones may do so, as our multimedia guides are compatible with all types of earphones and headphones.
  • Single-use protective covers for earphones and disinfectant wipes can also be supplied on request. 

Can I go to the café, restaurant or bookshop-gift shop after my visit?

The bookshop-gift shop is open Tuesday to Friday from 10.30am to 7pm (except Thursday, 10.30am to 8pm), and Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 7pm.

The Café Jacques is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 6pm.

Les Ombres restaurant is open.

Is the research library open?

The museum research library and the precious collections are open.

The Jacques Kerchache Reading Room is open during the museum opening hours, except on Saturdays in August when it opens at 1pm.

  • The research library is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am to 7pm, and until 8pm on Thursday.
  • The Jacques Kerchache Reading Room is open from 10.30am to 7pm from Tuesday to Sunday, and until 10pm on Thursday.
