Abstract:

In May, 2000, while keeping a two-week anthropological fieldwork diary of a flurry of paramilitary assassinations in an agribusiness town that I know well in western Colombia, I asked myself to whom do we write when writing a diary? Due to contingent circumstances involving the spiritual healing of a young woman, I saw a parallel between my singing to the spirits and writing a diary, as much as with writing per se.
