Every year, at the beginning of July, the musée du quai Branly holds a Communities Day, in partnership with organizational “representatives”, which enables people from a socially-disadvantaged background to explore the museum. More than just an unequivocal transfer of scientific knowledge, this day is a moment for sharing, for emotion and for the discovery of the museum as a cultural city open and accessible to everyone, a place for cross-cultural dialogue.
Event Weeks and Weekends
Cultural events organized throughout the year at weekends or during school holidays focus on a culture and its traditional and popular festivals in connection with the museum program. These events are open to everyone and promote discovery of the cultures and civilizations represented in the museum collections; special events are dedicated to people from these cultures.
The Museum and Detainees
Since 2010, the musée du quai Branly has teamed up with rehabilitation and probation services to design specific cultural awareness programmes for offenders, including various activities such as storytelling events or workshops.
