Description
Légende de la planche : "Plate XXI. Siyangephoya (left handed) is so named because he holds his gourd rattle in his left hand, has the turtle shell rattle under his left knee, and dances with his left foot. Before the dance bgins, and between songs, these Kachinas trot about making amusing little bows to each other or to the spectators-as illustrated. The mask is black with a pad of brown sheepskin on top. On the back are painted frog, lizard or rain designs. A goatskin is tied at the left shoulder. The left half of the body is painted black, the right is striped black and white".
