Description
Légende de la planche : "Plate XIX. Ahote is extremely popular and his songs are well liked by the Hopi. The mask is distinguished by the horns, snout, bulbous eyes and painted design. A star is on the left side and a crescent moon on the right. Tied to the top is a bunch of parrot feathers and a fan-shaped spray of eagle feathers which projects backward. This black Ahote wears a buckskin kilt and paints his body black and yellow".
