Résumé
'In March 2001 the world watched with amazement the explosion of two giant statues of Buddhas in the city of Bamiyan in Afghanistan. At the beginning of next year, artist, filmmaker and photographer Arthur Omar went there with the dream of rescuing one of these pieces of monuments destroyed by the Taliban to display it at the 25th Bienal de Sao Paulo. The book Journey to Afghanistan is a result of this expedition. With over 600 images, made in a country at war, the volume does not want a travelogue nor a story, but to propose issues that transcend geopolitical issues. The issue features the presentation of the Italian intellectual Antonio Negri. With a unique and poetic work, Arthur Omar brings into debate the concepts of language itself photographic.'
