This view shows the peculiar effect wrought by the action of floods. The artist of the expedition, Mr. Wyant, of New York, made a study of this scenery with the intention to paint it as a characteristic cañon view. [Le Camp Beauty, Cañon de Chelle[Chelly]. Parois hautes de 1 200 pieds (environ 366 mètres). Largeur du cañon à cet endroit, environ un quart de mille (environ 402 mètres). On peut voir sur cette prise de vue les aspects singuliers façonnés par les cours d'eau. L'artiste de l'expédition, M.
