sustainable development

Sustainable development aims to allow - in such varied fields as environmental preservation, social responsibility and economic progress - for the fulfilment of “the needs of the present without undermining the capacity of future generations to meet their own needs”.

This fundamental goal is at the heart of the national sustainable development strategy, which the French Government committed to on 27th July 2010 and which the musée du quai Branly’s two supervisory ministries - the Ministry of Culture and Communication and the Ministry of Research and Higher Education - have put into practice in their respective fields.
