The Total Foundation is open to the world
Promote the great cultures of the world
Driven by the international dimension of the Total Group, the Total Foundation, a major patron of the arts, aims to promote cultures and to share their beauty and meaning with the widest possible audience, particularly children and young people.
Year after year, the Total Foundation has worked jointly with the musée du quai Branly to promote cultures, by supporting many exhibits, most recently:
Masters of Sculpture from Ivory Coast in 2015
- Plains Indians in 2014
- Ivory Secrets : Art of the Lega in 2013
- Nigeria : Arts of the Benue River in 2012
- Dogon in 2011
- Congo River,
African Presence* in 2010
- Upside Down : the Arctic Cultures,
Artists of Abomey in 2009
*The exhibit African Presence has been on tour in Africa since 2011, in partnership with the musée du quai Branly and the Institut Français, thanks to sponsorship from the Total Foundation.
Opening up culture to the widest possible audience
Convinced that access to culture is a medium for social cohesion and education, it supports many initiatives promoting cultural practice for everyone and for young people in particular.
Since 2009, it has therefore provided funds for the musée du quai Branly to enable people most alienated from culture, particularly those from a socially or financially disadvantaged background, to access the exhibits it supports. Thousands of people benefit from this support each year.
In 2015, for the 5th consecutive year, the Total Foundation supported “Communities Day”, which fosters exchange and solidarity. 700 people will enter the musée du quai Branly and discover the temporary exhibits on guided tours.
The diversity and complementarity of the initiatives supported by the Total Foundation makes it one of the major French players in cultural patronage and a Major Patron of the musée du quai Branly since 2009.
