In Guatemala, Perenco is the leading oil company, accounting for almost all of the country’s production. In addition to several activities in the fields of education, health and employment, Perenco has forged close ties with teams of archaeologists working on the Mayan sites. Today, in collaboration with the CNRS, the French Embassy in Guatemala and the Pacunam Foundation, it provides financial and logistical support to the excavations at the site of the ancient Mayan city of Naachtun.
