Musée du quai Branly

Content

The musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, inaugurated in 2006, presents an exceptional collection of masterpieces of “primary arts” from the entire world. Ceremonial masks, sculptures, votive statues, magical objects, traditional costumes and textiles, ritual accessories, jewelry, the works of this exceptional illustrated book recount the history of Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas through that of their people and their civilizations. The history of the relationships between Europe and these four continents is animated by the most beautiful works from the museum's photography collection, for the most part unpublished. It also presents the unique building designed by Jean Nouvel and the garden by Gilles Clément.

After "The Louvre" published by La Martinière publishers in 2008, "the Musée du quai Branly" showcases more than 300 masterpieces in an original and refined layout that reveals the objects' full power and highlights the strength of their details.
