Some thirty different ethnic groups inhabit Siberia, speaking languages from a variety of linguistic groups – Samoyed, Finno-Ugrian, Tungusic, Turkish, Mongol, Louarovetleian, and Paleosiberian … For the first time, the cycle presents this vast territory's music and song traditions of shamanic inspiration. Without claiming to give a complete picture, it comprises a representative selection of Siberian music, with four concerts loosely connected to the different languages that are spoken. Performances will be introduced by two lectures.

4 concerts :

Thursday 1st, Friday 2nd, and Saturday 3rd February, at 8 pm.

Sunday 4th February at 5 pm.

2 introductory lectures :

The cycle can be complemented by the exploration visit ‘Soothsayers and Shamans’ (1 hour, open to adults).
