Open to all visitors, young or old, the museum's resource center presents a panorama of the art and culture of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas: exhibit catalogues, art books, atlases, and stories, as well as journals.

so you can continue on with your visit,

so you can know more about traditional stories, extra-European contemporary art, the history of slavery and colonization, how to prepare for a trip by leafing through a great photographer's album, or a guide book or novel...

You can access the document portal: scientific document catalogues, with a wealth of electronic resources, as well as a selection of CD's and DVD's that can be consulted, on site.

As close as you can get the objects, through experiencing a work, and the presentation of old books and photographs.

Meetings designated by the letters "LSF" (French acronym for "French Sign Language") are transcribed in sign language for the hearing impaired.

Depuis 1977, la Société des Etudes euro-asiatiques étudie les échanges de toute nature qui ont marqué les modes de vie et les cultures des peuples de l’Europe et de l’Asie. Faisant appel aux meilleurs spécialistes, elle offre un lieu propice à la rencontre des savoirs et au dialogue de diverses disciplines :
ethnologie, histoire et archéologie, sciences des religions et des littératures.

Situations of contemporary art in the world

One Thursday a month, at 7pm, these roundtables convene actors from the contemporary art world, artists, curators, and theorists, who analyze the mutations induced in the art world by the generalized relationship of societies.

Meetings, documentary screenings, guided visits, roundtables…numerous rendez-vous are programmed around the temporary exhibition of the museum: Artistes d’Abomey, Présence Africaine, or Teotihuacan, City of the Gods.

The rendez-vous around the museum collections

The adventure of a work: presentation of a work of collections, from its acquisition to its exhibition as well as its discovery on the web. Rendez-vous are accessible in sign language and to seeing-impaired persons during the readings shared in the dark (through use of facsimiles).

Documentary question: screening and presentation of films in the reading room, followed by discussions with the filmmakers. Next rendez-vous: Un sang d’encre (A Blood of Ink), by Jacques Goldstein and Blaise N’Djehoya

Musical rendez-vous : with the French Society of Ethnomusicology, a series of conferences and screening to discover, during the moments of privileged listening, the music of the world as well as the musical collections of the museum: musical instruments, sound and audiovisual recordings, etc.
