Les Ateliers nomades
The museum sets off to meet visitors!
Following the success of the « Maquis cafés » operation carried out in Montreuil in May 2011, the musée du quai Branly is pursuing its mission of cultural democratisation by launching in 2013 the Ateliers Nomades, an innovative extramural approach on an unprecedented scale
Second stopover in Clichy-sous-Bois and Montfermeil
In 2014/2015, the Ateliers Nomades set off to meet the inhabitants of Seine-Saint-Denis, with the event culminating from 15 to 30 November 2014. Conceived in close collaboration with the cultural stakeholders of the two conurbations, this event offers workshops, storytelling, events, artistic projects, taster sessions, encounters, restitutions of previous projects and, of course, a chance to see some of the museum's works.
From the start of the school year, and throughout the year, this collaboration will take the form of projects in schools and after-school centres, partnerships with local associations, artists' residences and a free shuttle service to the museum.
First port of call at Cergy-Pontoise in 2013
After a month of travelling through the Cergy-Pontoise conurbation, the Ateliers nomades ended on Sunday 2 June.
The operation was a great success! The museum would like to thank all its participants for their curiosity and presence.
Many thanks also to the different stakeholders and to the community of the Cergy-Pontoise conurbation which has made this great adventure possible.
The next visit of the Ateliers nomades will be in 2014 at Clichy-Montfermeil.
