Curator of heritage in the Oceania section of the National Museum of African and Oceania arts (MNAAO), Yves Le Fur was then responsible for the museography in the Oceania section of the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac.

He has organized a number" of exhibitions related to the art of Oceania, Africa, and the Americas, notably in 1999, La mort n'en saura rien, reliques d'Europe et d'Océanie" (Death will know nothing, relics of Europe and Oceania), as well as the exhibition for the opening of the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac in autumn 2006, "D'un regard l'Autre, Histoire des regards européens sur l'Afrique, l'Amérique et l'Océanie" (The other from one perspective, History of European perspectives of Africa, America, and Oceania).

He is currently the Director of the Heritage and Collections Department of the musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac.
