Résumé
The BIT are an estimated 2000 people ethnic group from the mon khmer family, spread in villages of northern Laos and southern Yunnan in China. Little is known about them, they are locally called Lao Bit and might have been categorized as a Khmu sub group in the past. On this recording a man (Boon Chom 63 years old) plays a Khmu mouthorgan Reun Khen of 16 bamboo tubes, while a woman Nang Ta (in her 40s) sings.
