Les Tambours de Brazza

Republic of the Congo

Choreography, scenography, music and chant offer us an initiation into Congolese musical tradition, mixing old and new rhythms from rites associated with the secrets of the forest.

About the concert

Les Tambours de Brazza continue to display the same mastery that has made them a success since 1991: these master drummers continue their dance to the rhythm of their impressive ngoma drums, while the men’s deep voices respond to percussion or more modern instruments (guitar, electric bass, drums). These chants guide us to the heart of initiatory rites, that bring the group members to life.

With its five new members, who have played both with traditional ensembles and with rap, soul and reggae groups, Les Tambours de Brazza once again mix up this Central African heritage to create a musical hotbed that reinvents itself at their fingertips.
