This exhibition examines the matter of alterity through a unique collection of objects. Idols, exotic ornaments, fetishes and primitive sculptures draw the diversity of the approaches which built the western culture through its relation to the other, perceived both as the original being, pure and innocent and as the savage or the cannibal with bloody instincts.  

European pieces are also exposed in order to better understand the context in which the pieces of work from other cultures were received.

This walk through time and space invites us to follow the evolution and the wandering of taste, between amazement and terror, interest and fantasy, contempt and recognition.
