In the context of the  PATRIMA labex, the musée du quai Branly is associated with Etis (Cergy), IRD and Partnering Robotics in order to study robot learning. Visitors have been invited to observe the behaviour of Berenson and to interact with it, thereby contributing to defining the aesthetic appreciation criteria of this art-loving robot.

By immersing the robot in our collections space, the aim of this research project is not only to work on a model for learning for the emergence of a kind of Artificial Aesthetic in a machine, but also to question from an anthropological viewpoint the perspective that we have on museum collections.

The robot art-lover began this learning experience during the spring break, Digital museum week (2012), continuing during the 2013 Night of the Museums weekend, and finally from Saturday 25 May to Sunday 2 June.
