Since the end of 2006, the Quai Branly Museum has been home to four learned societies that were previously hosted by the Museum of Man. These societies, founded a long time ago, ensure the diffusion of knowledge and promote research in their specific domains. To that end, they organize a certain number of conferences at the museum and publish scientific journals and works on a regular basis.
