Les maîtres du désordre [masters of chaos]
Edited by Jean de Loisy and Bertrand Hell
All order, including the divine, is fundamentally imperfect, limited and threatened by implosion, and which man is obliged to destroy. This awareness of disorder seems common to all civilisations and the disruptive forces seem essential to their balance and continuity. Against this backdrop, technicians, here known as the “Masters of Chaos”, are in charge of negotiations with the forces of chaos.
The catalogue focuses on the living word of people active in the symbolic world (shamans, intercessors, etc.) and – unprecedented in the concept of disorder – on artists whose works are shown in the exhibition.
